how the chorus to 'Right Next Door To Hell' was written about his
next door neighbor. Slash says they are filming the video for 'You
Could Be Mine' for the new "Terminator 2"
movie. After 'You Could Be Mine', Axl asks the crowd, "Have you
ever heard the expression break a leg? Well, I think I just did."
Axl actually injures his heel and is forced to wear a brace on it for
the first few weeks of the "UYI" tour. Before 'Don't Cry', Axl says
how Shannon's band was covering the song a few years back.
'Welcome To The Jungle' is dedicated to the 3rd Street Hell's Angels.

Opening night of the "UYI" tour. At the start of 'Right Next Door To
Hell', Matt begins to play 'Mr. Brownstone' by accident. After 'Mr.
Brownstone', Axl says, "This is a pretty bitchin' place for me to open
the tour, being that uh, I'm a hick- ass motherfucker midwesterner
myself so... this is a song that uh, we wrote long before we wrote Mr.
Brownstone. It's kind of the same, it's something called Bad
Obsession." Before 'Double Talkin' Jive', Axl explains how he
injured his foot and how his doctors helped him out.
Axl yells a big "Goddamn" during 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door".
Also during the song he tells the crowd that they are louder than
the crowds of 140,000 they had at Rock In Rio II.

mentions how he feels great and recounts a story of him smoking
opium on an airplane with Sebastian Bach. Axl says that without the
music of Nine Inch Nails he would have overdosed on drugs and

who died and was buried with a GN'R t-shirt on.

7th). Axl mentions that four years ago he wanted the band to play
'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' because he wanted his generation to

experimenting with their set.
At some point during the show, a fan jumps on stage and charges
toward Axl. Security holds down the fan and Axl stomps on him

Infamous riot show. Before 'You Could Be Mine', Axl mentions how
the line "With your bitch slap rappin' and your cocaine tongue you
get nothin' done" was in the "AFD" liners.
Axl tells a great story about taking a bus to St. Louis when he was 17.
During 'Rocket Queen', Axl spots a fan taking pictures. He tells the
security guards to take the camera from the fan, which they do not.
Axl then jumps into the crowd and punches the fan. He then gets
back on stage and says, "Thanks to the lame-ass security, I'm going
home." The band leaves the stage and a riot ensues.

at the previous show in Salt Lake City sucked. Axl holds up a 'Fuck
the St. Louis Police Department' banner that the Tacoma Police
Department gave the band. The show is stopped temporarily after
'Rocket Queen' because a fan threw something onstage. Axl stage
dives after 'Paradise City', then takes his microphone and
"thanks to the faggot who tried to take my pants off".

This is the first show in Europe on the" UYI" tour. Unusual opening
performance of 'Mr. Brownstone', which is usually the second song
played. Axl thanks the Finnish crowd for giving them Hanoi Rocks.
'Welcome To The Jungle' is played instrumentally for the most part,
apparently something happened to Axl. Then, without Axl, the band
plays '14 Years'. After some time off, Axl comes back and the band
plays 'Welcome To The Jungle' completely. The opening to
'Paradise City' is a bit different – it starts out with Slash jamming on
the opening chords and Axl singing the first two lines, just the two of
them.

After 'Mr. Brownstone', Axl thanks the crowds in Massachusetts for
selling out the concerts quickly. Before 'Double Talkin' Jive', Axl
mentions there has been a lot of talk in the press about 'Get In The
Ring'. He goes on to say he's very proud of the song and that Duff
came up with the song. He also says they won't be playing the song
because he feels the song speaks for itself on the record. He then
goes on a huge rant about GN'R's relationship with various
publications. During 'Rocket Queen', Axl mentions that 'It Tastes
Good, Don't It?' was written a few years ago when the band was
trying to get kicked off the Iron Maiden tour. First ever performance of
'Breakdown'. Axl sings the phone part of 'Knockin' On
Heaven's Door'. Before 'Estanged', Axl tells the crowd that Boston has
always had a special place in their hearts because they grew up
listening to a lot of Aerosmith.

GN'R's first ever show in Madison Square Garden. Special guest
performance by Shannon Hoon. Axl goes off on the bad journalism on
the East coast, specifically Bob Guccione and Spin Magazine. He also
says that the people he pissed off in the song 'Get In The Ring' tried to
have him shot in LA. Axl says that there's no need to play 'Get In The
Ring' live, because, just like 'One In A Million,' his point
has already been said on the record. Axl mentions that they will have
to pay $24,000 in overtime fees for playing so long.

'You Could Be Mine' is played unusually early in the set. Axl asks the
crowd if they're surprised to see GN'R back in Philly so soon. Axl
says that if he never moved to LA he would be working in a factory
back home in Indiana. Axl recounts the story behind 'Don't Cry'
before they play it. He also says how a critic said that the song is not
real GN'R, even though in reality it was the first song ever written in
the band. Axl mentions that Duff is almost done with his solo
album and it will be released within a year. Axl wears a Santa Claus
hat during 'Estranged. The show ends at around 2:10 in the morning.
