Notes
|
Rare acoustic/electric show. The only known live performance of
'Cornshucker', which was written by Duff & sung by Duff & Axl at
this show. 'Welcome To The Jungle' starts the electric set. Axl sings
a few lines of 'Not Fade Away' by The Rolling Stones during the
beginning of 'Mr. Brownstone'. Axl temporarily leaves after the
second performance of 'Patience', which was an improv jam. He
was pissed because GN'R wasn't supposed to play this show. The
band then jams on some songs. During the 'Instrumental Jam' after
'Patience', parts of 'Whole Lotta Rosie' & 'Born To Be Wild' are
played, with Axl singing. A roadie comes on stage to sing 'You
Shook Me' & 'Rock And Roll', [ Led Zeppelin].
'Rock And Roll' features the 'Living Loving Made' intro. Again Axl
comes back during 'Rock And Roll' to help out on vocals.

making the 'Welcome To The Jungle' video a hit, enabling them to
do a video for 'Sweet Child O' Mine'. During introductions, Axl
corrects himself and says, "I should say I'm introducing the family."
Axl says that "Appetite For Destruction" went gold the
day before and that it's his birthday tomorrow.

Axl tells the crowd they'll be filming a video for 'Sweet Child O' Mine'
when they go back to L.A. Before 'Used To Love Her', Axl says that Sam
Kinison "kind of" inspired the song. Axl says that when Paul Stanley of
Kiss was interested in producing the band he said that 'Welcome To The
Jungle' needed to be re-written in order to be a "pop" hit.
Needless to say Paul Stanley never worked with GN'R. This is the first
documented performance of 'Only Women Bleed' by Slash. For an
unknown reason Axl leaves towards the end of 'Nightrain' and the band
finishes the show without him.

A rather short set, the next night (December 10th) Axl apologizes for it.
After 'You're Crazy', Axl says, "Well, while we're trying to decide which
one of us has the worst hangover up here, we're recording tonight, taping
this show for future use. This is something called It's So Easy." Before 'Mr.
Brownstone', Axl says, "I did, a lot of interviews yesterday, for Japanese
magazines and I get asked this question a lot. It's about 'Do I feel
responsible to my audience, or responsible for my audience's actions after
being influenced by one of our songs. I don't, you know, think I'm
responsible for what someone decides to do because they, they
see or hear and art form. But at the same time we care about our audience
and I don't want to see anybody get hurt or do something stupid; you
gotta use your own common sense.
You know you can't fucking go get fucking plastered out of your mind and
get in a car and think you're gonna drive on the fucking freeway, that's
stupid. Maybe you'll get away with it, maybe you'll have some great times
that you can live to tell about but you know, sooner or later you ain't
gonna live to tell about shit. So anyway, this next song is about a drug
called heroin that possibly made this fuckin' band break up and shut the
fuck up asshole [talking to a crowd member].
Anyway, um, basically this is just about anything that gets in the fucking
way of, of you attaining your dreams. This is something called Mr.
Brownstone." Before his guitar solo, Slash says, "I drank fuckin', since
we've been here, more sake than you fuckin' probably the entire country
has in its whole fuckin' history!"
Steven has a drum solo during 'Rocket Queen'.

After 'You're Crazy', Axl mentions how last night's show (December 14th)
was one of the most fun nights they've had in a long time. Before 'Out Ta
Get Me', Axl says, "Usually we dedicated this song to whatever is pissing
us off but I had so many drinks last night I can't remember anything that
is pissing me off!" Steven plays a drum solo during 'Rocket Queen'. After
'Rocket Queen', Axl does a funny Slayer impression because a crowd
remember requests a Slayer song. Axl dedicates 'My Michelle' to "our
friends" in Metallica. Again Slash plays 'Mother' as an intro to 'Knockin'
On Heaven's Door'. Slash leads another "hey fuckers!" chant after
'Welcome To The Jungle'.

The last show on the "Appetite For Destruction" tour. After 'Out Ta Get
Me', Axl throws buckets of water on some crowd members near the front
who were spitting on stage. He threatened that the band would leave if
the spitting continued. During 'Used To Love Her', Axl leaves the stage
temporarily because someone in the crowd threw something onstage.
